Lutterworth Harriers rules and regulations

 

Objectives of the club

 

  • To facilitate participation in, and promotion of, the amateur sports of recreational and competitive running and related sporting & social activities, in Lutterworth and amongst the local community.
  • Be organised on an amateur basis.

 

 

Membership of the club

 

  • Lutterworth Harriers is an inclusive club and membership shall be open, on application, to anyone interested in joining, regardless of sex, disability, ethnicity, race, nationality, sexual orientation, occupation, religion, political or other beliefs.
  • The club committee may refuse membership, or remove it, only for good cause such as conduct or character likely to bring the club or sport into disrepute. Appeal against refusal or removal may be made to the members.
  • Individuals who wish to become members of the Club must apply using the Membership Application Form, this will also include a health questionnaire/declaration.
  • By becoming a member of the Club, every member agrees to abide by the Club rules.
  • Club membership is currently limited to 35 runners for the health and safety of participants. This number can be reviewed depending on the number of qualified coaches.
  • Lutterworth Harriers is an adult running club open to runners 16 years of age and older.
  • Due to limited places, Members who do not attend training for 4 weeks without contacting their coach or welfare with a valid reason will forfeit their membership, and free up a place for the next person on the waiting list.

 

 

Health & Safety

 

  • Members are to take responsibility for their own health and safety, agree to notify coaches of any injury or relevant illness and where appropriate consult their GP before taking part. 
  • All participants must wear high viz/reflective tops/running lights during the darker nights. This is for insurance purposes, so that coaches can keep a watchful eye on all runners, and runners can be easily seen by cars and other road/path users.

 

 

 

Subscriptions

 

  • The club will keep subscriptions at levels that will not pose a significant obstacle to people participating. 
  • Training fees paid are non-refundable if the runner does not attend.
  • Members are encouraged to book on as soon as possible once invitations has been sent (SPOND) to allow coaches to plan appropriate training sessions.

 

 

 

Club Committee 

 

  • Any Member may be nominated by any other two Members, with his/her approval, as a candidate for any of the posts of Honorary Officer or Ordinary Committee Member by notice in writing (including email) to the Secretary before the Annual General Meeting.
  • A Member may accept nomination for, and hold, more than one Officer position. 
  • The Committee shall meet quarterly in person. Additional meetings may be called as deemed necessary. 
  • Proposals arising at any meeting shall be determined by a simple majority of votes illustrated by a show of hands. In the case of an equality of votes, the Chair shall have a casting or additional vote.
